A key component of the establishment of the National Careers Institute (NCI) was to consult with stakeholders across Australia.
Consultation and co-design workshops
In late 2019, the NCI together with the National Skills Commission and Skills Organisation Pilots, held a series of workshops across Australia to discuss and help frame the:
- role, priorities and goals of the NCI
- work of the National Skills Commission, which will oversee the Australian Government’s investment in vocational education and training (VET) qualifications and promote a nationwide approach to skills forecasting, and
- work of the Skills Organisation Pilots, which will give industry more ownership across the national skills pipeline and help improve the national training system for both industry and students.
Workshop findings and material from other stakeholder consultations are summarised in our ‘This is what we heard’ report.
In addition to the face-to-face workshops, the NCI also conducted user research and online surveys. The NCI connected with over 10,000 people across Australia through these consultations.
The results of the consultation process continue to shape the next stages of the NCI.
